The demoncrats are planning a massive tax increase, disguised as "Cap-and-Trade". From an article at townhall.com:
It's correctly identified by the Republicans: "The proposal for cap and tax will raise the energy rates for producing everything in the United States of America. If we dramatically raise the rates of electricity we will not be competitive when it comes to building anything," Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich."
But the demoncrats are trying to spin this into an even swap: "Chu acknowledged that limits on greenhouse gases would increase energy production costs _ both gasoline and electricity _ but he said overall consumer energy bills would not increase because the legislation also is designed to spur increased efficiency. "Costs would actually be held constant," he maintained."
So here's where the truth comes out: "The administration's energy cost estimates are based on the government distributing 40 percent of the money collected from auctioning credits back to households to offset energy-related energy expenses. The House bill has yet to work out a emissions credit allocation proposal."
So they are going to raise taxes on electricity and gas, increasing the price of EVERYTHING, and give you 40% back in credits, AND WOULD HAVE YOU BELIEVE THAT THERE IS NO INCREASE IN PRICE!!!
How stupid are they? How stupid do they think we are? Let's see... I'm going to raise your price by $10, but I'm going to give you $4 back. This is "a constant"???
